Wanted Summer 2013
When designing the Wanted Summer 2013 collection, Robert Kupisz was inspired by the image of the Wild West, especially the one presented in the movies. The main reference is the cult film Once Upon a Time in the West by Sergio Leone, starring the sensual, brave and strong Claudia Cardinale. The legendary female part, along with breathtaking landscapes and Ennio Morricone’s music were the foundation of the designers’ third collection.
I’m extremely lucky to be surrounded by brave, strong and beautiful women, such as Jill McBain in Sergio Leone’s movie – says Robert Kupisz – They inspired me to make a show only with female silhouettes, using clothes for both, men and women. I wanted to show bold and attractive women, aware of their sexuality, fighting their way in the contemporary Wild West.
The sets remind the colourful and abundant dresses and skirts of the women who accompanied the pioniers during the colonisation of the West Coast. Intense tones, like turquoise and baby blue were combined with beige and brown tones. Steamde leather, denim and checkered flannel fabrics were contrasted with featherweighted silk and lace dresses. An important element of this collection are also cowboy boots, designed by Robert in cooperation with Loft37.
