On December 1, 2017, a show of the latest collection took place in the Soho Factory hall in Warsaw - KRIVAN by QПШ ROBERT KUPISZ, Winter 2017/18. This time, the designer was inspired by the tradition of the inhabitants of Podhale, the costumes of winter sports enthusiasts and the majestic beauty of the mountains.

“The idea for the collection was born in my head during last year's visit to Kościelisko. There I had the opportunity to meet the inhabitants of the region and their traditions, local art and music. What fascinated me about the highlanders was their authenticity, strength of character, attachment and love for the place where they live. When I am in the mountains, I feel the domination of nature over man. The Tatra Mountains make me feel like I'm in a Gothic temple. They terrify me, but at the same time they fascinate me." - says the designer about the inspiration for the KRIVAN collection. “After returning home, I started researching the topic. I listened to music, looked through old albums with photos of highlander costumes, and even read about Janosik. In my collections, I avoid a literal interpretation of the main theme and try to combine history with modernity. As much as the atmosphere of the Tatra Mountains, I am fascinated by snowboarders, who are incredibly laid back and remind me of freedom. Therefore, in the collection, I decided to combine outfits inspired by the traditional clothing of highlanders with contemporary wardrobe elements taken from the way skateboarders dress.

The hero of the KRIVAN collection is the legendary mountain man Janosik - a multicolored figure, but invariably associated with the strength, stubbornness and courage of the people of Podhale. The ever-living story of the swashbuckling robber became an inspiration to create prints reminiscent of American superhero comics.

The collection is dominated by pastels, pinks and blues, which match perfectly with subdued gray and snow white. A characteristic element of many clothes is the interpretation of the traditional Podhale palinica, created especially for the show - it appears both as a print and embroidery on coats, shirts, long skirts and T-shirts.

In addition to cotton, etamine and viscose most often used by the brand, the materials also include faux fur combined with denim in long, elegant coats and short, fitted sheepskin coats.

A strong element of the collection are newly interpreted sports outfits referring to those worn by skateboarders, skiers and hockey players. Double denim trousers, comfortable, spacious sweatshirts and down jackets, which the designer combines with airy dresses, shirts and short skirts in the winter 2017/18 season.

Wojciech Kilar's "Orawa" as the musical setting for the show perfectly emphasized the drama and majesty of the mountains, which inspired the designer to create the collection.
